Every security company says it was founded because of a break-in. Ours actually was, and what stayed with us was not the loss. It was the timeline.
The call came from a family friend who ran a small shop. The alarm had done its job perfectly: it detected the broken door within a second, it made an enormous amount of noise, it sent every notification it was designed to send. And then, for the several minutes that followed, absolutely nothing stood between two strangers and everything he had built. By the time anyone could possibly have responded, the shop was empty and quiet again.
The system had worked. That was the part we could not let go of. Everything had worked, and it had not mattered.
Detection without response is just a very loud way of watching it happen.
The technology was already there
When we started digging, we found something surprising: the answer already existed, and it had existed for years. Banks, jewellers, pharmacies and cash rooms across Europe have long used security fog, systems that flood a room with dense, harmless fog the instant a break-in starts. Intruders cannot steal what they cannot see. It is one of the very few security measures that acts during the crime instead of after it.
But it lived in a world of commercial installers, wiring diagrams, site surveys and service contracts. If you asked how to get it for a living room, or a small phone shop, the honest answer was: you don't.
So we made it small, and made it yours
Fogaway exists to close that gap. We took the principle trusted by vaults and jewellery houses and engineered it into something you can carry home in one box: a compact unit that mounts with a screwdriver, snaps its cartridge in place, connects to an app, and covers up to 60 square metres in under a second. No technician. No wiring. No monitoring contract collecting a fee every month for a phone call.
We obsessed over the details that matter when this device guards the room your family sleeps next to. The fog is made from food-grade fluid, designed for occupied spaces, and leaves no residue on the furniture, the electronics or the things you are protecting. When it clears, your room is exactly as it was. The only thing that changes is what an intruder can do inside it: nothing.
